Mr. Swiezy is President of Greenleaf Development & Construction Company; a commercial and residential property management and development company located in Buffalo, New York. Greenleaf currently owns and manages approximately 250,000 square feet of commercial space and 650 apartments. Greenleaf presently has 27 full and part time employees, and has been in business since 1986. Project management, development, leasing and construction are done in-house for all current projects. Mr. Swiezy is responsible for the acquisition, construction and development of approximately 150 million dollars of real estate over the past 20 years.
James R. Swiezy is a graduate of Manhattan College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering and a minor in Mathematics.
James R. Swiezy has held positions over the past 10 years which include: Engineering Manager, Plant Manager and Global Business Director. In 2005 he completed a two year assignment in Munich, Germany where the primary focus was to build a new chemical plant in Shanghai, China (25MM Euro). Mr. Swiezy has been actively involved in numerous development &construction projects throughout WNY. Mr. Swiezy personally oversees the day to day operations, management, and development of all ongoing projects such as 1040 Delaware Avenue, & The Bosche Building (916 Main St.). Mr. Swiezy is actively pursuing strategic opportunities for future company growth.
Deborah joined Greenleaf & Co team in 2016. She has 38 years of experience in business management. She has certifications in Heating, Air Conditioning, Energy Star Building Analyst and Envelope Professional. She is always interested in learning new things and taking on new projects.
Gordon is a 2013 Graduate of Buffalo state with a degree in Political Science. He has been with Greenleaf & Company since 2014 and has worked in multiple areas of the company and has worked on projects such as The Bosche Lofts and Campus Walk.
He is currently filling the role of Maintenance Expediter, working to ensure that our multiple concurrent projects and maintenance operations run smoothly and successfully.
Gordon enjoys spending his free time outdoors, occupying himself with activities such as camping, hiking, fishing and working in his garden. He also enjoys engaging in community service, participating in initiatives such as the Pop up Park program, Assemblyman Ryan’s street cleaning events, and the Habitat for Humanity. As a member of the Buffalo community, Gordon takes great pride in the work we do at Greenleaf, working with the community to develop residential and commercial property across the city.
Demetrius joined the team in May of 2020 as an leasing agent. He is one of the first faces you will see when showing our apartments. He previously worked at the M&T Bank call center as a lead in the retail and mortgage department. Demetrius is a people person, likes to stay active and enjoys the work he does.
Bill Hamilton has significant Financial Management experience covering a wide range of industries. Mr. Hamilton has been a Chief Financial Officer since 1985. He spent 15 years as VP Finance of TAM Ceramics – a $80 million manufacturing Company in Niagara Falls, NY. He also spent 10 years in Public Accounting as an auditor and management consultant.
Mr. Hamilton was CFO of North Forest Group of Companies in Williamsville, NY from 2005-2010. North Forest is a developer, construction company and real property manager that specializes in affordable new roo office space in Buffalo, Rochester and Denver.
Mr. Hamilton has been with the Greenleaf Group of companies since 2010. He helped to streamline IT, accounting and administrative areas. He has also served as the Project Accountant for the $5 million project at 1040 Delaware Avenue that converted an old nursing home into upscale apartments and commercial space. He will fill the same role for the Bosche project on Main Street in Buffalo, NY.
Sarah started with Greenleaf & Co. in 2011 as an Accountant. She then took over the payroll, Human Resource department and Residential Property Manager positions. She is now the Manager of New Business Development and Operations and is thrilled with the outcome of the Campus Walk Project. She is excited to start Phase 2. She is a graduate of Rider University in Lawrenceville NJ with a double major. Sarah is very family oriented and enjoys discovering new things to do and learn with her family.
